Position Overview and Qualifications: 

Canisius University invites applications for a full-time, one-year Visiting Assistant Professor teaching position in its Animal Behavior, Ecology, and Conservation and Anthrozoology Department beginning August 15, 2025. The ideal candidate will teach within both our graduate and undergraduate programs in Anthrozoology, as well as our undergraduate program in Animal Behavior, Ecology, and Conservation. We particularly encourage candidates with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and mentoring. Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent degree; ABD will be considered. Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Compensation and Benefits: 

Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 annually 

*Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The selected candidate’s actual base pay will be based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including experience. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process. 

Benefits are available the first of the month after the full-time faculty’s date of hire and include – health, dental and vision insurance, life and long-term disability insurance, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time faculty with contribution from the university after one year. Tuition benefits are also available for full-time faculty and their qualified dependents.
